Cosmetic Dentistry
You can look fantastic and have a healthy smile. Most people who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth do not realize the numerous ways cosmetic dentistry can heal a smile. Cosmetic dentistry can correct crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, stained or discolored teeth, chipped teeth, broken or missing teeth and having a "gummy" smile. Drs. Robinson and Hamblen create a customized treatment plan for you, based on your age and goals for your teeth as well as your finances.

Tooth Whitening | Lubbock TX
You can have the confidence that comes from a bright, white smile. If you are happy with the alignment and spacing of your teeth, a tooth whitening procedure may be all that separates you from a dazzling smile. Tooth whitening is safe, effective and long lasting. We offer several treatments that give you gorgeous results: a custom home tooth whitening kit and an in-the-office procedure – Zoom!™
At home
Your custom home whitening kit utilizes a special tray that is customized to fit over your teeth. You also receive prescription whitening gel, which is inserted into the tray before you wear it. You are given detailed instructions about how long you should wear the tray each day and you should expect the entire home whitening process to take between two and four weeks, leaving you with a dazzling smile.
Zoom!™
The Zoom!™ tooth whitening system is a powerful, in-office procedure that produces fast, dramatic results. A specialized gel is applied to your teeth using a customized tray similar to a mouthpiece. The customized tray is comfortable, allowing you to hold it in place for about an hour. During that time, a specialized light source interacts with the gel to break up even the strongest stains and discoloration. By the end of your appointment, you will have a smile that looks like it did years ago!
Porcelain Bridges
Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay or simple wear results in the loss of a tooth. A large gap in your smile can create significant problems for your dental health if it isn't corrected. Over time your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move about, moving into the gap and resulting in discomfort, pain and more problems down the road. Porcelain bridges "bridge the gap" in your smile. Drs. Robinson and Hamblen create a lifelike, functional bridge to correct your smile, restore your bite and alleviate your discomfort.
A porcelain bridge is a natural-looking, non-removable tooth replacement that can complete your smile again. Dr. Robinson or Dr. Hamblen creates a customized tooth, as well as crowns for the teeth on either side of your missing tooth. The crowns, with your new porcelain tooth between them, bridge the gap in your smile. Not only does a bridge look natural and incredible, it feels great as well.
Porcelain Crowns
Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and your smile. Porcelain crowns are custom-milled from fine porcelain and shaded to match your other teeth perfectly. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specially fitted to give you back the look and functionality of your smile. If you have pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Dr. Robinson or Dr. Hamblen if crowns are for you.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
When decay has been taken out of the tooth, it is replaced with "filling" material. In the past, silver amalgam fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth. These silver fillings cast a shadow on your back teeth, making them look dull and you look older than you are. Plus, in order for these older fillings to be placed, more of your healthy tooth structure had to be removed. With advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings. Tooth-colored fillings look more natural and are bonded to the remaining tooth making it much stronger than one that is restored with a silver filling. You may even elect to remove your old silver fillings and replace them with natural tooth-colored fillings.
Bonding
Bonding refers to a composite resin containing porcelain that is applied and adhered to the surface of the tooth. Dr. Robinson or Dr. Hamblen sculpt and shade the material to perfectly match your surrounding teeth. Bonding corrects chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth and in some cases can correct gaps in your smile. A benefit of bonding is that generally, the natural structure of the tooth can be maintained.
